It automatically detects compatible reinforced sockets such as Green’up by Legrand and unlocks the full 16A charging speed without any manual configuration. On a standard household socket, it charges at up to 2.4 kW.
The Goneo Smart Cable 16 supports OCPP smart charging profiles, enabling dynamic load management through your Charge Point Management System. Charge during off-peak hours, respond to dynamic pricing, or integrate with your energy management system — all managed remotely and securely via OCPP 1.6J.
Communication between the Goneo Smart Cable 16 and your CPMS is protected by up to OCPP Security Profile 3, ensuring fully encrypted and authenticated data exchange. Combined with a dedicated hardware secure element, secure boot with signature verification, fully encrypted storage, and signed and encrypted firmware upgrades, security is built in at every level.

The Goneo Smart Cable 16 is the advanced version of our smart charging cable. Here is what sets it apart:
- Charging power: Up to 3.7 kW (16A) on a compatible reinforced socket, vs 2.4 kW (10A) on the base model
- Adjustable current: Choose between 6A, 8A, 10A, 12A, and 16A — the base model goes up to 10A only
- Reinforced socket detection: Automatically detects and unlocks higher speeds on compatible sockets such as Green’up by Legrand
- Smart charging: Supports OCPP smart charging profiles, enabling dynamic load management via your Charge Point Management System
- OCPP security: Security Profile 3 for encrypted and authenticated communication — the base model does not include OCPP security
- Charging history: Stores the last 200 charging events locally, vs 100 on the base model

To us, a smart cable is a mobile EV charging cable with an open, direct OCPP connection that transfers data through a 4G SIM card. It is also designed with a high level of safety and protection in mind.
Did you know? The Goneo Smart Cable 16 is equipped with an internal e-SIM. This feature is not only future-proof but also environmentally friendly, as there’s no need to insert a physical nano-SIM into the device.
Smart charging allows your charging session to be dynamically managed based on external factors such as energy prices, grid load, or your home energy consumption. The Goneo Smart Cable 16 supports OCPP smart charging profiles, meaning your Charge Point Management System can remotely adjust the charging current in real time — helping you charge at the most cost-effective and grid-friendly times.
Did you know? When smart charging is active, the OLED screen displays “EXT” next to the current setpoint, indicating the charging speed is being managed externally by your CPMS.
OCPP Security Profile 3 is the highest level of security defined by the Open Charge Point Protocol standard. It ensures that all communication between the Goneo Smart Cable 16 and your Charge Point Management System is fully encrypted and authenticated, protecting against unauthorized access, data interception, and device impersonation. The base Goneo Smart Cable does not include OCPP security.

Did you know? The Type 2 charging plug is the most common AC plug used in Europe.
Using the Goneo Smart Cable 16 is simple: plug it into a household socket, press the touch button to select your desired charging current, then connect the Type 2 plug to your electric vehicle and you’re ready to charge!
The available charging speeds depend on the type of socket you are using:
- Standard household socket (Schuko): Select between 6A, 8A, and 10A — charging up to 2.4 kW
- Compatible reinforced socket (e.g. Green’up by Legrand): The Goneo Smart Cable 16 automatically detects the reinforced socket and unlocks 12A and 16A — charging up to 3.7 kW. No manual configuration needed.
Did you know? The 12A and 16A setpoints are only visible on the device when a compatible reinforced socket is detected. If you are connected to a standard household socket, these options will not appear.
You can charge anywhere that has a Schuko socket, whether at home, at work, or on the go. For safety reasons, please ensure the socket is certified and in perfect condition. You can find more information about this in the safety section of the user manual.
Did you know? There are power regulations in some countries for charging with household sockets. If you’re travelling to another country and plan to use the Goneo Smart Cable 16, we recommend checking these regulations beforehand.
Note: If your employer reimburses your home charging costs, check with them first, as some employers only cover charging done at home.
Yes! The Goneo Smart Cable 16 is designed with multiple safety features, including protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, and earth leakage. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the user manual for safe and optimal use.
Did you know? We measure the temperature not only in the control box but also in the Schuko plug. If the household socket becomes too warm, the Goneo Smart Cable 16 will automatically suspend the charging session.
The Goneo Smart Cable 16 shares the same OCPP 1.6J implementation as the previous Goneo Smart Cable models, meaning it is fully compatible with all Charge Point Management Systems that have already been officially integrated with the Goneo range. No additional integration work is required on the CPMS side.
