FAQ

A smart cable, also known as an in-cable control and protection device (IC-CPD), is typically referred to as “smart” when it communicates with an external platform, providing services such as employee reimbursement. However, we see it as more than just that. To us, a smart cable is a mobile EV charging cable with an open, direct OCCPP connection that transfers data through a 4G SIM card. It is also designed with a high level of safety and protection in mind.

Did you know?

The Goneo Smart Cable is equipped with an internal e-SIM. This feature is not only future-proof but also environmentally friendly, as there’s no need to insert a physical nano-SIM into the device.

The Goneo Smart Cable is compatible with most electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) that can charge via a Schuko outlet.

T

he T2 charging plug is the most common AC plug used in Europe.

Using the Goneo Smart Cable is simple: just plug it into a household socket, then connect the T2 plug to your electric vehicle, and you’re ready to charge!

&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p>

know?</strong>

It’s highly recommended to first stop the charging session by unplugging the T2 plug from your electric vehicle, then unplug the Schuko plug from the household socket. When connected to a CPMS, the Goneo Smart Cable will send data directly to the platform.

You can charge anywhere that has a Schuko socket, whether at home, at work, or on the go. For safety reasons, please ensure the socket is certified and in perfect condition. You can find more information about this in the safety section of the user manual.

Did you know?

There are power regu

lations in some countries for charging with household sockets. If you’re traveling to another country and plan to use the Goneo Smart Cable, we recommend checking these regulations beforehand.

Note: If your employer reimburses your home charging costs, check with them first, as some employers only cover charging done at home.

Yes! The Goneo Smart Cable is designed with multiple safety features, including protection against overcurrent, overheating, and other potential issues. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the user manual for safe and optimal use.

Did you know?

We measure the temperature not only in the control box but also in the Schuko plug. If the household socket becomes too warm, the Goneo Smart Cable will automatically stop the charging session.

As a result, Eloy & Becker does not collect or store any personal data through the Goneo Smart Cable. All data remains stored locally on the device, ensuring maximum privacy and control for the end user.

ata-start=”467″ data-end=”484″>Did you know?

The only personal data stored locally on the Goneo Smart Cable relates to the last 100 charging events. Older entries are automatically overwritten by newer ones.

 • Duration of the charging session
 • Energy consumed [kWh]
 • Stop reason
 • GPS coordinates of the charging event
 • Plug and Charge identifier

If the Goneo Smart Cable is connected to a Charge Point Management System [CPMS] for specific services [e.g. home charging reimbursement], these event details — including GPS coordinates — may be shared with the service provider via OCPP.

Configuration keys that are shared [depending on CPMS]:

 • Charger unique identifier
 • Plug and Charge Identifier
 • SIM / eSIM ICCID

For more information on how your data is handled in such cases, please contact your service provider or the CPMS operator directly.

Of course! The user manual is available in four languages:

 • English&lt;/li>
 • Dutch (Nederlands)
 • French (Français)
 • German (Deutsch).
&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/ul>

The GONEO Smart Cable embeds GPS coordinates into each charging session record. This positioning data is stored locally on the device and is only transmitted to your Charge Point Management System if the device is connected to one via OCPP. Whether location-based services — such as reimbursement based on charging location — are activated depends entirely on your CPMS provider or fleet manager, not on Eloy & Becker.

Did you know? Location data is particularly useful for fleet drivers and employees who charge at multiple locations — home, work, or on the road. When your CPMS supports it, this allows your employer or fleet operator to reimburse only charges made at eligible locations automatically, without requiring manual declarations.
